A Windy City denizen like President Barack Obama - three years ago he called out the president for not doing enough to help the city, which has suffered for years from highly publicized gun violence - Durk recently declared he is Muslim and has been a vocal supporter of BLM. On the other side, there is Lil Durk, the rising young Chicago rapper who performs this Sunday at the New Daisy Theatre on Beale. Lil Wayne, the New Orleans MC who of late has been known as much for his legal problems as for his record-breaking streak of hit singles, made headlines recently with an interview in which he criticized the Black Lives Matter movement, dismissed racism in America, and showed himself to be so disengaged from the election that he claimed not even to know who Donald Trump is. Besides their profession and their names, rappers Lil Durk and Lil Wayne seem to have little in common.
