![]() ![]() It, like the front and back cover photos, seems a bit contrived, as does much of this album. 'Overnight Observation' from Soul Kiss doesn't come close to the magic of those radio gems. The review by Joe Viglione for All Music: ' 'Physical' and 'Make a Move on Me' were brilliant singles from 1981's Physical album, and they achieved their status as timeless pop classics without the help of a Xanadu soundtrack. ![]() I just assumed that she was happy with the look and sound of SK but it's pretty obvious she wasn't. One thing I admit I never thought of back then was Olivia's lack of interest in continuing with the 'sexy' image started with 'Totally Hot' and 'Physical' It's quite clear from the (few) interviews of the time that she had issues with this. I wonder if this is what got him the gig for 'The Rumour'? It's a bit rich him talking about weak material on 'Soul Kiss' when he played a large part in saddling the world with that inferior follow up. Click to expand.Great opening post!
